Avatar Illustrations

I had the privilege of designing and illustrating three portraits for two clients, to be used as avatars at their workplace. The challenge was capturing the likeness of each face as well as ensuring that an illustrated style was apparent. While working, I made decisions on what details to omit and what other characteristics can be simplified. I also chose to emulate a comic book style for two of the portraits as they were requested to have a more casual atmosphere. The bottom portrait, however, was meant to appear more professional and I took measures to differentiate it from the other two. I rendered the portrait in a more realistic style, focusing on smooth blending from light to shadow.
